Teams Android device management is no longer a single place with a single answer.
Microsoft is moving provisioning, monitoring, and updates for Teams Android devices into the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal, with Teams Admin Center only covering some device categories during the transition. For overlapping Android management features, TAC decommissioning is planned for October 2026.
That sounds administrative, but it has a real operational consequence: the control plane is changing. If your support team still treats TAC as the default reference point, you can end up with one team enrolling devices in one portal, another team troubleshooting in a different one, and update work landing in a third place. The result is not just friction. It is slower diagnosis, weaker ownership, and more room for policy drift.
A better rule is to decide whether Android Teams Rooms are being managed as rooms, as endpoints, or as a shared fleet. If they are part of the room estate, PMP should become the primary path now, not near the deadline. That gives you time to align roles, provisioning, and update responsibility before the old path disappears.
The useful question for leaders is not whether the move is coming. It is whether the operating model already matches it.
